I am Gabor Harto, native Hungarian, translator.

I translate from English to Hungarian.

I graduated with a double major in English and Hungarian Linguistics and Literature from University of Szeged in 1993. I worked as lecturer at Juhász Gyula Teacher’s Training College, Szeged (today: part of the above university), I taught English language, translation, literary history and literary theory. After gaining experience in the IT, financial and legal domains while having been a part-time translator and a part-time software consultant for about a decade, I have been working as a full-time freelance translator since 2007.

The subject areas I do translations in include:

• finances, economy, accounting, auditing
• foodstuff, consumer goods, telecommunication

I also take on larger projects which I manage in cooperation with a team of fellow translators. These projects are proofread and quality-checked after translation.
