My name is Gabor Harto; I'm a native Hungarian translator.
I translate from English into Hungarian.
I graduated from the University of Szeged in 1993 with a double major in English and Hungarian Linguistics and Literature. I worked as a lecturer at the Juhász Gyula Teacher’s Training College in Szeged (now part of the same university), teaching English, translation, literary history and theory. After gaining experience in the IT, financial and legal fields while working as a part-time translator and part-time software consultant for about a decade, I have been working as a full-time freelance translator since 2007.
The subject areas I translate in include:
IT/computing, HW/SW, mobile devices, security, technical documents
Law, contracts, certificates, licences
Government, public administration
E-commerce, e-payments, banking
Finances, economy, accounting, auditing
Foodstuff, consumer goods, telecommunications
Sales, marketing, travel, tourism.
I also take on larger projects which I manage in cooperation with a team of colleagues. These projects are proofread and quality-checked after translation.
I live in Hungary, GMT+1.
